Central Electric Pays $1.4 Million in Capital Credits
Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) announced today that some current and former
members are eligible to receive capital credits payments totaling $1,409,215.
Individual checks will average $119.73 and will be paid to 8,353 present and
former CEC members who purchased power in the years of 1986 and 1987. CEC
members will begin receiving their checks next week.

today, marking the next major step in the Coop’s three-year program to upgrade
its metering system and billing processes.

Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) announced today that some current and former
members are eligible to receive capital credits payments totaling $1,017,515.
Individual checks will average $93.88 and will be paid to 7,638 present and
former CEC members who purchased power in the years of 1985 and 1986. CEC
members will begin receiving their checks next week.

Peak Project Expands to Black Butte Ranch,
Free Hot Water Heater Timers Available to First 150 Requestors
Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) expanded its Peak Project this week to
include its 1,300 members in Black Butte Ranch. The pilot program provides water
heater timers free of charge to reduce power consumption during peak-demand
periods. The co-op is expanding the program’s geographic reach in an effort to
enroll 450 participants by Jan. 31, 2011.

Central Electric to Implement First Rate Increase Since 2001
The 9.5 percent average increase combines increases in rates and fixed charges applied monthly to members’ accounts.
The average monthly bill for the co-op’s residential members
using 1,400 kWh will increase from $102.53 to $112.36.

CEC To Award Conservation Incentive Payment to Ray’s Food Place
Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) will award a $30,000 Bonneville Power
Administration energy conservation incentive payment to Ray’s Food Place of Sisters on Friday,
Aug. 13, at 9:30 a.m.

Central Electric Expands Peak Project to Camp Sherman
With major funding and project support by the Bonneville
Power Administration (BPA), CEC mailed Camp Sherman area residents an invitation
this week to join the Peak Project, said CEC Member Services Director Alan
Guggenheim.
CEC will conduct a kick-off meeting for Camp Sherman
residents interested in participating at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, in the Camp
Sherman Community Hall, he said.

CEC Announces Smart Grid Grant
Central Electric Cooperative announced today that it will receive $4.65 million
in matching funds from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to deploy smart grid
technologies.
The DOE's Smart Grid Investment Grant (SGIG) will fund half of a five-year, $9.3
million project by Central Electric to enhance the reliability and efficiency of
CEC's electric system.
