Outage Restoration

Call CEC if you have a power outage. Keep trying if the lines are busy.

In the unlikely event of a downed power line, DO NOT attempt to move it or touch it! Call CEC or the police. Professional, highly trained personnel will respond immediately.

DO NOT plug portable home electric generators into a wall outlet. Our servicemen could be FATALLY injured by the backfeed of electricity through your home’s electrical system.

Unplug Major Appliances - Switch off or disconnect the big energy consumers such as your stove, heat pump, water heater, freezer, hot tub, furnace fan and refrigerator. All of these appliances demand a sudden surge of energy when we restore power to your home.

Gradually Turn on Major Appliances - After power is restored to your home, wait one-half hour before turning on any major appliances. Then start turning on one major appliance spaced over 15 minutes periods.

If some of your lights appear to be dim when the power comes back on, call CEC.
