CEC Warns Members About Scams
Central Electric is receiving reports from increasing numbers of members that they are being targeted by scam calls. The claim the member owes money, and must pay immediately usually or their power will be cut off immediately. Go HERE to see how Central Electric handles late- or non-payment notifications. Hint: It is nothing like the scammers claim and gives members plenty of opportunity to pay before having service terminated.
Some scammers are also offering a $50 credit each month to “excellent customers” but credit card information is required. This is a scam. If you are unsure, please hang up and talk with a Central Electric customer service representative at 541-548-2144.
