The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning between 2:00 and 11:00 p.m., projecting winds to gust up to 50 to 60 miles per hour accompanied by abundant lightning.

Central Electric Cooperative continues to monitor the situation and, if and when necessary, could execute an emergency Public Safety Power Shutoff on Tuesday afternoon in areas east of Prineville, affecting approximately 426 members.

As a precautionary measure, CEC set all reclosers in the affected areas to their most sensitive settings earlier today, enabling the power lines to de-energize should lightning or an object come into contact with them due to the high winds.

CEC will make every effort to inform you when it will execute a Public Safety Power Shutoff.
