Car-Pole Accident Causes Large Outage Between Tumalo and Sisters

A vehicle collided with a major power line feeding from Central Electric’s Tumalo Substation at approximately 9 p.m. taking out service to 566 co-op members in an area between Tumalo and Sisters. The accident was near Hwy 20 and Fryrear Rd.  Emergency crews are on the scene and CEC crews have removed downed wires from the scene enabling rescuers to work safely.  Once the crash scene has been cleared CEC crews may be able to restore service to some portions of the affected area through switching operations, but the last of the affected members could be out for four to six hours from the time of the accident. The damage to the power pole is significant and will require replacement of the pole, a time consuming operation. #cec_outage #cecserviceinfo
