Ductless Heat Pump Program Description

Eligibility

  • Owners of new or existing residences (site-built or manufactured) served by CEC, with electric resistance heat as the heat source where the unit will be installed (can be permanent or nonpermanently installed, which includes plug in electric resistance).
  • Financial incentive is limited to one per residence.
    • Multiple residences on one property or under one electric meter may be eligible for multiple financial incentives. (ADU/apartment- is considered a separate residence as long as it has a full kitchen with stove or oven, and bathroom. Cannot have an interior entrance to the primary residence to be considered a separate residence. Please give us a call if there are any questions.)
    • Residences may have a ducted heat pump heating the same residence where the ductless heat pump is installed, as long as the area where the ductless heat pump is installed has electric resistance only (an example would be an addition above a garage that is not served by the ducted heat pump, and has electric resistance wall heaters. Please give us a call if there are any questions.)
  • The new ductless heat pump or DHP must be AHRI certified and a copy of the certificate must accompany the rebate application.
  • Must be installed by a licensed HVAC technician.
  • The DHP must be installed on a dedicated electrical circuit and according to manufacturers’ specifications. The DHP must also be installed to the specifications found in the Installation Requirements.
  • CEC reserves the right to inspect the installation prior to issuing any financial incentives to ensure program compliance.
  • Commercial properties may be eligible for a financial incentive. Please call Energy Services, (541) 548-2144 and select option 6, to determine eligibility and rebate amounts.

Required Final Documents

  • Ductless Heat Pump Installation Form (please complete entire form).
  • Project invoice.
  • AHRI product sheet.
  • Copy of county mechanical permit for heat pump installation.
  • Required photographs and installation form must be sent to CEC’s Energy mailbox. (please see HP Photo Checklist)
