It’s time to save with every load

CEC is now offering a rebate to help make the upgrade to Energy Star clothes washers and dryers. Appliances must be purchased new from an authorized retailer.

Energy Star clothes washers and dryers use around 33% less water and use around 25% less energy than standard models.

Energy Star washing machines use significantly less water, approximately 13 gallons per load, compared to 23 gallons per load in standard machines. Many models include additional energy-saving features.

Energy Star dryers use 20-60% less energy than standard dryers. They use moisture sensors to more accurately stop the dryer when clothes are dry, compared to traditional timed drying. Other energy-saving features can include automatic cycle termination, delayed start, and steam cycle.

Energy Star clothes washer rebate is $80 for a front load model only. Top load models do not qualify for a rebate. Home must have an electric water heater.

Energy Star electric dryer rebate is $40.

If there are any past due balances owed to CEC rebates will be credited to member’s account. Applicant certifies that they are not excluded, disqualified, or debarred from receiving federal assistance and are not on the Federal Suspension and Debarment list.
