HP Checklist for Contractor Installers

This checklist presents what CEC expects for all HP installs for BPA/CEC incentive.

Outdoor Unit

• Prepared ground surface that is flat and level
• Install pad or pad blocks
• Use risers or riser blocks
• Anchor unit to risers
• Avoid installing outdoor unit on deck or near pathway

Line Set

• Insulate entire line set length (Best Practice is to insulate the fittings also)
• Protect outdoor line set with line hide or cover with a UV protective material
• Seal penetrations through the shell with insulative sealant

Condensate Line

• Must slope downhill
• Must exit the shell
• Output should avoid walkways and decks

Indoor Unit(s)

• Level
• Explain controller
• Explain filter cleaning/maintenance

Required Photographs

• Photograph of the front outdoor unit, showing pad, risers, and level unit
• Photograph of outdoor unit manufacturer’s label
• Photograph of each indoor unit installed showing placement in room(s) (if applicable)
• Photograph of each indoor unit’s manufacturer’s label
• Photograph of each condensate line termination
• Photograph of insulated line set
• Photograph of exterior line set house penetrations
• Photograph of backup heating lockout setting at 35 degrees
