When handling aluminum irrigation pipe this season, be aware of where power lines are located and avoid a tragedy!
Simple tips:
- Store irrigation pipe in an open area, away from power lines
- Always look up before lifting a pipe
- Share this safety tip with workers
- Create awareness for hunters and children, too; they can lift a pipe directly into power lines when pursuing small animals
Remember, aluminum is an excellent conductor. A person holding a pipe that touches a power line could be seriously injured or killed.
