Protect Your Inside Air From Smoke

During this time of excessive smoke in Central Oregon consider protecting your inside air.

– Reduce the use of fans that encourage outside air infiltration entering your home.

– HVAC systems set to “ON” or “AUTO” (depending on the system) so the fans only run when the system runs. Continuous circulation may allow more smoke to infiltrate your home.

– Be mindful of exhaust fans if you sense an increase  of smoke smell. This too can create outside air infiltration. Limit use as needed.

– Consider closing foundation vents as floors that are not airsealed offer a pathway of air infiltration.
