Education Scholarship Opportunity

Central Electric Cooperative is offering a one-time scholarship opportunity to area high school seniors due to the cancellation of the 2021 Washington, D.C. Youth Tour trip.

The cooperative will award five $1,000 scholarships to seniors within its service territory. To be eligible, students’ families must be Central Electric Cooperative members.

How To Apply

High school seniors interested in applying can find the application here. Applications will be accepted through Friday, March 12, at 5 p.m. and can be mailed, emailed, or dropped off at any Central Electric office.

Applicants will need to include the following typed or legibly written with the completed application:

  • Share your interests, goals, activities, awards, and other achievements.
  • Describe the biggest challenge you faced during COVID-19 and how you overcame the challenge.
  • Describe how you will use the scholarship funds.
  • Tell us what you know about electric cooperatives.

A selection team of CEC staffers will review applications. Those students selected to continue in the process will participate in a short interview with the selection team.
